How to convert a PDF to JPG
- Choose a PDF file.
- Pick a resolution: 150 dpi suits screens and email, 100 dpi gives smaller files, 300 dpi is for printing.
- Select Convert to JPG. Each page appears with its own download button.
When you need JPG instead of PDF
Some upload forms only accept images. Home Affairs, for example, says documents added to a citizenship application after submission must be JPG files and asks that each file be limited to 500Kb. Converting the PDF page to JPG and then running it through Compress to 200 KB is an easy way to meet that kind of rule. JPGs are also easier to paste into messages, slides and social posts.
Privacy
Pages are rendered by pdf.js, the same PDF engine used in Firefox, running locally in this tab and stored on FileKivo's own server so no third-party scripts load. Your PDF does not leave your device.
Good to know
Each page is drawn on a white background. Very long documents (over 100 pages) should be split first so your browser doesn't run out of memory. If you want the opposite conversion, use Images to PDF.
