How to rotate a PDF

  1. Choose or drop one PDF.
  2. Pick 90° clockwise, 90° anticlockwise or 180°.
  3. Leave the page box blank to rotate every page, or type pages such as 2 or 1-3, 6.
  4. Select Rotate PDF and download the new copy.

Why fix rotation before uploading

Phone scanning apps and office scanners often save some pages sideways. A reviewer can usually turn the page on screen, but a correctly rotated file is quicker to read and looks more careful, which matters when you send evidence to an employer, a bank or a government agency. Home Affairs, for example, notes that poor-quality documents can slow down processing (see our ImmiAccount upload limits guide).

What changes and what doesn't

The tool sets the rotation of each chosen page. Text, links and image quality stay exactly as they were, so the file size barely changes. Rotation adds to any rotation the page already has, so running 90° clockwise twice gives 180°. Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first.

Private by design

Rotation uses the open-source pdf-lib library, hosted by FileKivo and run inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded. Need more? Merge PDFs, extract pages or compress a PDF.

Questions

Can I rotate only one page?
Yes. Type its page number, for example 4, in the pages box.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. The page content is not re-drawn; only its orientation setting changes.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
