Terms of use

By using FileKivo ("the site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

FileKivo provides free tools that convert, compress, resize and combine images and PDF files. The tools run in your web browser on your own device. Files you choose are processed locally and are not uploaded to FileKivo.

Your responsibilities

  • Only process files you have the right to use.
  • Keep your original files. Tools create new copies, and compression and conversion can reduce quality or remove features such as selectable text.
  • Check every output before relying on it, including that it is readable and meets the requirements of the organisation you are sending it to.
  • Do not use the site for anything unlawful, including forging documents or signatures.

Guides and requirements

Guides summarise rules published by third parties such as Australian Government agencies, with links to the source and a "last checked" date. FileKivo is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. Requirements change; the official source always takes priority. A file that passes a FileKivo size or dimension check is not guaranteed to be accepted.

No warranty

The tools are provided free and "as is". To the extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law, FileKivo is not liable for any loss arising from the use of the site or its outputs. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Third-party software

Some tools use open-source libraries hosted on FileKivo: pdf-lib (MIT licence), pdf.js (Apache 2.0 licence) and heic2any (MIT licence). Licence texts: pdf-lib, pdf.js, heic2any.

Changes
