Child Support online document upload limits
Services Australia explains how to upload Child Support documents through your Child Support online account. This guide summarises the published rules and shows how to get your files ready. Always follow the instructions shown in your account.
How to upload
You upload through your Child Support online account, which you can open through myGov or the myGov app.
The file rules
- Accepted formats: PDF, PNG and JPEG.
- You can include up to 10 files.
- The total size of all files for a document upload must be under 10 MB.
- You can only upload one document type at a time.
- Remove password protection before uploading.
The upload page groups documents into categories (for example care evidence and income evidence). Choose the category that matches what you are sending — details are on the official upload page linked below.
Services Australia also asks that uploaded images are appropriate: not distressing or offensive, not images of the body as evidence of injury, and not illegal.
After you submit
- You receive a Receipt ID.
- Copies of the documents you uploaded can be viewed or downloaded online for 24 hours.
- Online history lists uploads for the past 2 years, but older uploads listed there cannot be viewed or downloaded from that history.
Getting your files ready
- Total over 10 MB: the limit applies to all files in one upload combined. Compress photos with Compress to 200 KB, or shrink scanned PDFs with Compress PDF.
- Several photos of one document: combine them with Images to PDF, or join PDFs with Merge PDF.
- Pages out of order: fix the order with Reorder PDF pages.
- iPhone HEIC photo: HEIC is not one of the listed formats. Convert HEIC to JPG.
- Colour photo of a form: a greyscale copy can look clearer and compress smaller — try Convert to greyscale.
- Password-protected PDF: save an unprotected copy first.
Privacy
Child Support documents can include income, care and family details. FileKivo tools run entirely in your browser, so files you merge, compress or convert here are not uploaded to FileKivo. Only send documents through your Child Support online account or other official Services Australia channels.
For other Australian upload rules, see our guides for myGov and Centrelink, Medicare claims and ImmiAccount.
